European Young Researchers Network on Teachers’ Role in School Bullying

The number of researchers who perform research on teachers in the context of school bullying among students is small, and they do not seem to be well connected across Europe. To change that, we set up the European Young Researchers Network on Teachers’ Role in School Bullying.

We are four young researchers (Saskia Fischer, Antonia Paljakka, Danelien van Aalst) working at universities in three European countries (Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands) researching teachers’ role in the preventing, recognizing, and intervening in school bullying among students at primary and secondary schools. We would like to create a platform specifically for young researchers (including postdoc-phase) with related research, by founding a digital platform where we can connect and find each other easily, share research and information, and support each other in networking and collaborating.

The aims of the network are:

  • Share current research, results, and publications;
  • Inform each other about conferences, special issues, etc.;
  • Find researchers to collaborate with for conference symposia or co-authorships;
  • Help each other with specific research-related questions;
  • Plan international research projects and data collections together;

The network is just beginning to evolve. We are in the phase of making an inventory of members and finding a suitable platform to foster connection and collaboration between members.

We hereby invite you to join, and help us create the networks’ developmental process:

  • Please send an email to european.bullying.research@gmail.com if you would like to be on the email list of the network and confirm that you would like to receive future emails to inform you about the network;
  • Forward this information to other researchers that we could invite or suggest other researchers that we could invite via european.bullying.research@gmail.com;
  • Think along about a platform or way to communicate about collaborations and sharing knowledge and about what you would like the network to be for and help with;

The European Young Researchers Network on Teachers’ Role in School Bullying was introduced, and its purposes was discussed, at the Bullying Research Symposium. This was the official starting point of the network. A fist newsletter to all network members will follow in December 2020.

We look forward to hearing from you via email!

With kind regards,
